Applications are now open for the next IFSTAL PhD Away Day taking place on Tuesday 13th June, 09:30 – 16:00 at LIDC, 36 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0PD.
Specifically for PhD students, this Away Day aims to bring together a wide range of doctoral researchers from the IFSTAL consortium in a relaxed setting to discuss their work and explore themes and skills around interdisciplinarity, including research and funding.
Sessions include:
- talk and Q&A with guest speakers on experiences of interdisciplinary research (from LCIRAH and City)
- talk and Q&A with a Grants Officer from the Wellcome Trust on postdoctoral funding opportunities
- a workshop on writing interdisciplinary research funding proposals
We will provide lunch, refreshments throughout the day, and finish with tea and cake, ensuring opportunities to chat to each other and our colleagues and guests.
Places will be limited to a maximum of 20. We will reimburse travel expenses, with the assumption that people will be travelling from the location of their institution. If you will be travelling from further away, please consult Roger Sykes (roger.sykes@eci.ox.ac.uk).
Please note, due to the limited places and catering orders, in the case of a ‘no-show’ on the day/without explanation, the student may be asked to cover their catering expenses.
Applications open: 19 April 2017
Registration deadline: midnight 28 May 2017
